Fishing Ontario brings you the best fishing tournaments this summer. Some of the best fishing Ontario tournaments fly under the radar, but the Land O’ Lakes Fishing tournament isn’t something you want to miss!
Loughborough Inn and Marina are thrilled to be a part of the very first Land O’ Lakes Large and Smallmouth Bass Fishing Tournament. This live release event will be held on Saturday, August 17th, 2013 and pays out cash prizes for the three biggest fish in each lake. First place will take home $500, second place gets $250 and third place receives $100. These 3 top prizes are available to win on every lake, meaning there’s $2,500 in total up for grabs. This is an angler’s dream and the perfect fishing tournament for fishing Ontario enthusiasts of ALL ages and levels of experience!
In addition to the top 3 payouts, there’s also draw prizes that you automatically qualify to win as soon as you register. Prizes include LD Powersports boat worth $10,000, accommodations at local resorts, a 1000 Island Sightseeing cruise for two as well as passes to incredible Ontario attractions like Niagara Parks, The Bomanville Zoo and Wild Water Kingdom.
The five participating lakes include Loughborough Lake, Desert Lake, Sharbot Lake, Kashwakamak Lake and Big Gull Lake. You are welcome to fish any of the 5 lakes and can weigh up to 4 fish. As this is a catch and release event, you can weigh your fish at any time. There are weigh stations at each lake.
We welcome (and encourage!) families to come out. The more the merrier! Just keep in mind that everybody who is fishing must register. In addition to the draw prizes, the registration fee also includes a BBQ dinner at Oso Beach on Sharbot Lake after the event. This is also when the awards will be presented.
